The Olympics have left a significant impact on the Red Crew these past few weeks. However, Emmett is the one who seems to have really caught the Beijing Olympic spirit. In fact, he seems to have lost quite a bit of sleep due to his favorite events: springboard diving and track and field. The first time we became aware of his interest began when we heard a loud pounding noise after we put Emmett to bed one evening. Obviously worried, we rushed into the room to find him jumping off the side of his bumpers and face planting into the mattress, accompanied by him yelling, "Jump in Water!"
Nemo has temporarily been replaced by the platform and springboard events.
A few days later the little man was running back and forth through the hall which isn't very unusual; what was different was the stopping, stooping, kneeling, followed by a, "Ready, Set, GO!" And off he went again running through the hall. His starting form has greatly improved thanks to the 100m and 200m events.
We are hoping that soon after the Olympics have ended his crib will turn back into a place of rest. As for now it will most likely remain a diving arena.

I think you have a future olymipian! It's so cute that he's "caught the spirit of the olympics". You'll have to show him those videos when he's older and remind him of where it all started

That is really cute! Are you guys still looking into buying a house? Do you still love candy? I was thinking about you the other day when I drove past the pharmacy where we used to buy penny candy. Do you think they still sell penny candy? I should go in there for old times sake. I still love candy! I eat it more than regular food.
What a little athlete you have there-- I see a decathalon in Emmett's future. I played the video for Evan and he busted up laughing! He misses his cousin!

That is so great, I wish I had gotten so into the olympics when I was little! Maybe I would have found it as inspiring as I do today.

So i have to admit I am really disappoint that you are not a candy lover anymore. I feel like a part of your identity has been lost. I did feel a little bit better when you said that you liked dark chocolate even though I can't stand that stuff. I guess it will have to suffice.
Also a health food nut. Especially after living in California and I am sure it will get worse when I move there in May. They are opening up a new organic type place called Sunflower soon, and I am really excited because I like the fruit and "more healthy" option, but the candy will always play a large role in my life. I hope when I am pregnant I will stop liking it. That would be great!!
Anyway I am trying to beat you on how long I can comment on your blog but I am running out of things to say. Did I tell you I got bit by a dog!!! I meant not be able to visit because I might come down with a terrible case of rabies.

I love this ---- he is such a little athlete already......I hope our little Cash is like that!!! He is so cute and it is crazy to finally have our baby here! I want to talk to you so give me a call sometime -- now that i am home with him all the time any time is good for me.....also, i heard about your parent's house and it made me sick! I hope everything can be fixed.....how's Tammy doing with it all....i heard she flew out to see you guys! Man, i am just glad they weren't hurt by it! anyhow, let's catch up soon!
