Up until about the age of 13 Halloween is the best.
"Everyone we know is giving out Candy for free!"
But then, there comes a point where you can't hide your post-pubescent voice as you show up on the doorstep and ask,
"Trick or Treat?"
"Trick or Treat?"
Regardless of how childlike your costume may be.
Halloween thus turns into lame-ness.
UNTIL....
you have your own kids!
Than you relive all the excitement of the holiday through the eyes of your little ones.
It was a treat in and of itself watching Emmett's face at each house as they dropped candy into his ghetto walmart grocery plastic bag.
p.s. My Mom's prom dress inspired our 70's prom king and queen get up, in case you were confused as to what we were attempting.

so true. You said it perfectly. This was the best Halloween in a long time because now I have a child. I can't wait until next year. It was so fun taking Livie out trick or treating. I'm lovin' your costumes.
You look awesome! And soo much like your mom. Oh I miss you Car Face. The kids couldn't be any cuter! Were you in UT for Halloween?
That is such a great prom dress! Still sexy today (which many dresses from the 70's were NOT!). And of course your 60's picture effects complete the look... Emmett & Margot look so darling...
haha you guys all look fabulous!! i'm digging your mom's prom dress. i'd almost wear that to church:) happy belated halloween!
That prom dress looks mighty familiar... was that one we would play dress up in? I remember wearing all your moms dresses in your unfinished basement back in the day... while rollerblading. Ha! Love all the costumes. Margot looks so grown up in these pictures, and Emmett's the cutest little pirate I've ever seen!
