Every morning, Eric and I wake up to the sound of Emmett shrieking this: "BASKETBALL HOOP(sounds more like 'a-ket-ball') SHOOT IT!!!!!!" This is repeated over and over again until he finally is freed from his crib and let loose, heading straight for his ball and miniature plastic basketball hoop. The screaming finally finishes once he scores. Then it begins all over again when i try to set him in his chair for breakfast....and so on throughout the day. You would think leaving the house would help take his mind off "B-ball" as he frequently refers to it...nope. Any park, grocery store, neighborhood, and especially church he somehow spots the "A-KET-BALL HOOP" and wants to "SHOOT IT!" I've learned to keep a miniature basketball in the diaper bag to nourish his undeniable urge.
And so it was at Play Group Today. All other children, slides, swings, teeter toters were immediately forgotten once he saw his most beloved friend and loyal companion:
the A-KET-BALL HOOP.

I am so glad to hear that somebody elses kid loves basketball. We know the feeling. I still laugh when Hudson looks up at church and sees the hoop all the way up and goes crazy. Now he has moved onto golf! Good luck, but have fun with it!

Seriously Car... He is the most adorable little thing! I couldn't agree more that he totally looks like a little surfer dude! He is so tan and has bleach blonde hair! You know Casey is secretly hoping that Cooper is the same way with the b-ball obsession. Man... lets all move back by eachother! I'm missing my friend... Love you Peaches!
That is great. Hopefully some of his love for the game will rub off on Jackson.
I love that Emmett doesn't even care that the hoop towers nine feet above him. He looks so determined to make a basket! What a sweetie!
I'm with Greg, I hope some of his love for the game rubs off on our boys...especially Forrest :P

ah, he's just like his daddy, yup! ..and he's just so darn cute.. gosh i love little boys. it's fun to read about all the things emmett is doing because i know max will be doing those same things in a few months. max has a mini hoop too and just HAS to play with it... but he can't say a-ket-ball hoop, he just says "ball." :)
Such a darling boy! I'm sure Daddy is very proud. I love the way you write!!! These pictures are priceless, someday when he's duncking the ball and never misses you need to take these out and remind him of his a-ket-ball obsession that started at such a young age :)
LOVE it -- and hope my little son has the same love!!!! Chip's hope is that he LOVES football even more, but we'll see! Anyhow, I hear you have a little piece of big news.......and i want to talk to you in person about it -- we have some HUGE news too -- so give me a call sometime soon so we can catch up ---also, i am headed into the last 30 days before this baby arrives and i need some major advice!!!

I am so glad that you know who Frank is!! We told a lot of people that we were going to see him and no one NOT ONE person we talked to knew who he was! I couldn't believe it because he is good clean fun!!
